Super Bowl

It's a rainy Super Bowl Sunday here in Sin City. Yesterday it rained all day, too. I know I asked for it, but now I'm asking for it to stop. I miss the sunshine and sunny skies. Good news is that the Super Bowl brings in large crowds and the storms have kept them indoors. This should make for a very profitable weekend for the casinos.

We went to the Orleans last night to place our wagers on the game. Frank's done well with prop bets past years, plus they're just plain fun, so we have 15 of those. My favorite being the total number of scrabble points in the last name of the player scoring the first touchdown (note photo above). The over was chosen. We also have a parlay bet, the Saints and under.

Prior to betting it made no difference who won, although I figured I'd root for the Saints since this is their first time there. Plus, I have a friend in New Orleans that is a diehard Saints fan and I know it will totally make her year. Every fan deserves to see their team win it all - except, the Cubs maybe. Now, with money on the line I have vested interest in seeing the Saints beat the Colts.

Let's go Saints and the under!!

Saints and the under is a winner! Very nice. I've seen lots of funky prop bets, but the scrabble one is new to me. That looks like fun.

One of the guys I work with was telling me on Saturday that he was going to put money on the Saints scoring exactly 31 points (at 15-1). Final score Saints 31, Colts 17.

I talked to him this morning to find out how much he bet, and he told me that he NEVER MADE THE BET!

Yeah, he's feeling like a schmuck today.

Lost the scrabble bet, Garcon - under.

We do have 6 tickets to cash. We made some money. We haven't had a winner all season so it's going to be great getting paid.

that sucks he never made the bet. I thought I had it rough, I bet the total at 51-55. It was 48 because of the missed field goal. That would have paid handsomely.

Nice parlay on the Saints and under. Congrats. I hope we hear about your other prop best that won.

I'll take a look over the winners and share them tomorrow.
