I know, I know.... It's been quiet around these parts. My latest excuse is a good one. I swear. We snuck off to Mexico for a week. We had a glorious time tooling around Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Xpu-ha, Akumal and Tulum. We yearned for this trip for ages. Nothing was stopping us from going. We needed it. It was the best yet. Seriously, I don't think we could have had a better time. I told Frank, we're lucky to live in a warm climate. If I had to return to snow and cold. I would have stayed. I'm not even joking. Even knowing I was coming home to a fabulously sunny nearly 80-degree day; I was still tempted to stay. Mexico and I had a rough start... broken ankle, montezumas revenge (twice), sunburns, mosquito bites, etc. But my love is deep and unwavering. Ten years ago, I was certain we would never return (which was why I walked a million miles on a broken ankle to see as much as physically possible), but we returned year after year. We took a three year break between trips in 2010 and 2013, and finally returned for our sixth stay two years later - almost to the day. After all this time, I think Mexico and I have come to an understanding. This trip was flawless. I didn't even burn. Amazing. Plus, we invested in our own snorkel gear so we had plenty of interaction with sea life. I can't wait to share our adventures.
