Windy City Beefs N Pizza

My favorite place for Chicago style eats is now serving Henderson. Plus, they've expanded their menu to include pizza. All the delicious tastes of Chicago under one roof? It must be a dream! Thankfully dreams come true. The new location on Eastern near the 215 is dishing out legit Beef sandwiches, combos, polish and dogs. Their thin crust is top notch. Extra crisp crust, perfect blend of seasonings and a slightly sweet sauce topped with whatever your heart desires and gooey cheese.



To celebrate the opening day Mike, Frank and I enjoyed a small pepperoni and onion ($14), and large sausage ($17.50). There was hardly a crumb leftover. Dine in, carry out or delivery. Get some!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year. We had the opportunity to ring in the new year on the strip with my mom, Blaine and Mike. But we opted to avoid the crowds and revisit our spot on the mountain for panoramic views of the valley.

We watched fireworks from there last year and 2012 was a pretty amazing year so we felt it was worth repeating.



We built a fire to keep warm, drank Kellerweiss to stay refreshed, we admired the glow of the city and set our goals for 2013. Frank lit off fireworks to pass the time until midnight. The echo was incredible.

Once the clock struck midnight the strip erupted in fireworks. Sorry, no photos this year. I wanted to sit back and enjoy it. It was a great show even though it wasn't as well synchonized as years past. The Stratophere was behind early on, but caught up, and MGM finished a good thirty seconds after the others. You could could hear celebratory shouts and woohoos between the booms. Happy to have survived the end of the world to welcome the new year.

And just like that 2012 has come to an end

I hope everyone had fun filled festivities with loved ones over the holidays. We ran off to Laughlin for a night and then to Phoenix for a few days and returned home in time for a Christmas staycation at the South Point.Good times! As usual I have pics and details to share and no time to share them, but I'm going to make time in the new year.

I'm looking to shift focus on more things that bring me joy. In 2013 I want to strive to improve my days by doing something for my mind, my body, my spirit, my relationships, my creativity and my passion. It seems like good stuff for the soul.

With any luck it will stick. So, bear with me. I am determined to bring the blog back to life.

May 2013 be filled with wonderful adventure and endless possibilities. Happy New Year!

It's a Trailer Trash Christmas!

I'm likely on Santa's naughty list for my lack of updates. There's much to share, but I've had no time to share it. Here we are nearly mid-December. How did that happen?

In any case, let me tell you about the party we threw this weekend. We invited our friends over for a Trailer Trash Holiday Bash. We asked everyone to dress up and bring a gift for a dirty santa exchange. Reminding them you're not classy if you're not trashy.

They got-R-done!

I've never had more fun planning a party, costumes were great and all in attendance had a blast. Hilarity ensued all night long!









Pabst Blue Ribbon was theme throughout. I know y'all are envious of my glorious tree.



We had plenty of trashy eats and drinks!

Baloney and cheese skewers



Redneck sushi - dill pickles wrapped in cream cheese and deli meat



Sloppy jo's, pigs in a blanket, tater tots, variety of chips and cheese in a can. Dessert was white trash and christmas crack.



Our array of beverages included generic soda, boxed wine, boonsfarm, 40oz, apple moonshine and candy cane vodka. And a pool of beer.

Honey Boo Boo made the rounds and spread holiday "cheers"



Everyone else kept it classy! We were the envy of all trailer parks.
